The Inauguration of the Tribunal investigating the Cause of Canonization for Servant of God Vincent R. Capodanno, MM, occurred at the chapel of the Archdiocese for the Military Services at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 21, 2007.  Archbishop Edwin F. O’Brien presided at this first session which established the tribunal representatives, and he witnessed their oaths to fulfill their duties faithfully and to maintain secrecy.  Those participating in this phase of Fr. Capdoanno’s Cause are :

The The tribunal has begun summoning witnesses to provide personal testimony of Fr. Capodanno.  These accounts from relatives, Maryknoll colleagues, friends, and former military persons who served with Fr. Capodanno will be sent to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome as proof of Fr. Capodanno’s worthiness for sainthood.
