What is the role of Mission Capodanno?
Mission Capodanno, under its former name CatholicMil, serves as petitioners for the Cause; owns and operates this website, VincentCapodanno.org, and its sister website at www.MissionCapodanno.org; publishes and distributes informative literature and holy cards on Fr. Capodanno to US military chaplains, personnel and military communities around the world; and produces high impact media such as the introduction to this website. Our four fold mission is “to strengthen military families, promotevocations to the US Chaplain Corps, provide requested Catholic materials to US military chaplains and personnel worldwide, and make known the life and sacrifice of Servant of God Fr. Vincent Capodanno, LT, CHC, USNR.”

What is the current status of the Cause of Fr. Capodanno?

Chaplain Vincent Robert Capodanno was declared Servant of God by Rome. Rome’s declaration was read publically during the 2006 Memorial Day Mass held at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC celebrated by then AMS Archbishop Edwin F. O’Brien, now archbishop of Baltimore. Msgr Thomas Olszyk, Promoter of Justice, has begun gathering testimonies from family and close friends who knew Fr. Capodanno personally.

What is the next step?

A documented miracle solely attributed to the miraculous intercession of Maryknoll missioner and US Navy chaplain Fr. Vincent Capodanno must occur, be presented to and accepted by Rome.
